It feels like only yesterday this was released, but today “Shut Up” turned one.

Stormzy “Shut Up” a freestyle shot in a park, which was one of many iconic moments in grime from the past 12 months, celebrates its first birthday.

To be fair the past 12 months in grime have flown by with so many iconic tracks, albums and moments. Still moving at 100 mph the scene is the best its ever been and every day it is just a pleasure to be part of it. I couldn’t believe it when i saw Stormzy post that “shut Up” was one today!

With over 31 million youtube views and counting, nearly 500,000 records sold and charting at number 8 in the official UK singles chart. Not bad for a fire in the park! A flawless production and as always razor sharp bars from Thornton Heaths finest. It feels like only yesterday that this was released, showing that you can spend thousands on press, promo, back up dancers and hollywood style videos. Or you can get your crew together and spit pure fire, in the park, no fancy extras, no crazy videos and quite literally change the game.

A massive happy birthday to “Shut Up” press play back on this one, its a total classic.
