Laura White drops her latest track – That Girl.
Born and raised in Greater Manchester, singer-songwriter Laura White, today unveils her brand new single ‘That Girl, taken from her forthcoming EP ‘The Painted Door’, set to be released through iluvlive Records on February 10th. Co-written with DJ and record producer Jonas Blue, it’s Laura’s powerful yet effortless voice that takes the lead on the new track. Combined with a rich and textured production and a stripped back acoustic, soulful sound, the result is truly engrossing and a true testament to Laura’s musical talents. Having already caught the attention from the late Amy Winehouse, Adele and Chris Martin, Laura is set to make 2017 her own. Right away your ears will pick up all sorts of influences. Having grown up listening to old school soul and jazz, Laura often cites the likes of Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys and Ella Fitzgerald as inspirations.
Laura’s story in music began at the young age of four, when she developed a love for gospel and soul music. At eight years old Laura took up classical piano and clarinet, and by thirteen she finally plucked up the courage to enter local music shows. By the age of fifteen Laura began to gig, putting together her band who worked the circuits around Manchester, London and anywhere they could, securing small festival slots along the way. In the past six years Laura has written with world renowned producers Steve Booker, Cutfather, Sigala, F Block, Jonathan Quarmbly and The Invisible Men, as well as writing for the likes of Paloma Faith, Rudimental, Rita Ora and Charles Hamilton on ‘NY Raining’ which featured on the hit TV show Empire. Laura also co-wrote and featured on the Top 20 hit ‘Love On Me’ with Galantis.
Fresh from selling out two headline shows in Manchester and London, and signing a publishing deal with Peer Music, Laura is set to perform at the Iluvlive Hotlist show on January 30th at Zigfrid Von Underbelly, headline Leicester’s 2Funky Music Cafe on February 8th, Manchester’s Fallow Cafe on February 9th (SOLD OUT) and Bristol’s The Square Club on February 21st.
