Loyle Carner – Fire In The Booth

sddefault

The UKS best kept secret Loyle Carner drops an epic Fire In The Booth for Charlie Sloth.

Loyle Carner has been firmly on my radar for the past 18 months. His free EP ‘A Little Late’ is the perfect introduction to Loyle Carner and his smooth, jazzy take on HipHop. With his debut album ‘Yesterdays Gone’ out now, its time to see how he survives in the booth with Charlie Sloth.

To start with as a huge fan of Loyle Carner i was surprised to see him dropping a Fire In The Booth. I was curious at how his soulful, jazzy styles were going to work in the ‘Fire In The Booth’ format. Most sessions come from Grime artists, or more road rap MC’s but he makes this work, with ease. As always props to Charlie Sloth for forward thinking and getting Mr Carner down.

The session sees a hard selection of beats all layered with Loyle Carner’s smooth, soulful vocals. The content is different to what i was expecting, as we see a slightly more street/hood side to Loyle Carner. That said though he drops knowledge and elements of positivity which makes this an epic ‘Fire In The Booth’.
