Double S ft Wiley – Get Paid.

Double S teams up with the Godfather Wiley for – Get Paid.

Hot off its premiere on DJ Target’s 1Xtra show, Double S presents the long overdue collaboration between himself and the grime Godfather, Wiley and result is pretty damn special.

Produced by Vee Music, the frequency drops from the start with the thundering, deep string bass bursting straight in to play whilst an instant ear-worm of a synth repetitively trampolines enthusiastically across it like an excited kid in a sweet shop. Cue Double S with an opening hook before slipping effortlessly in to his bars of the first verse and lining up round two for Wiley to drop some weighty input.

Having given an explosive reminder of his ‘Style & Flows’ on his last record, featuring none other than BBK CEO JME, Double S gained immense support from a lengthy list of online tastemakers including Noisey, Earmilk, MTV & Hypebeast as well as securing a wealth of radio support in the form of features, playlists and plays from the likes of BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra, Kiss, Capital, Beats 1 & more.

One of the original pirate radio emcees on the grime scene, the legacy of Double S also stretches back to a number of influential crews including ‘Shoddy Crew’, who he co-founded and included fellow grime artist Chip, and Marvell, who were central throughout the golden years of grime. To date the rapper has collaborated with heavyweights such as Skepta, JME, Frisco, Tempa T, Chip and Cadet with ‘Get Paid’ adding to this serious roster and another future classic for the grime hall of fame.

Everything from Soul, Jazz, Classical, Rock, Pop you name it, it was on the stereo when I was growing up. I got into HipHop in 93/94 and the rest as they say is history! From a long haired skateboard kid growing up in Glastonbury, via Edinburgh for a few years. Now making moves in London for the last ten years and counting. My journey has been fuelled by music. I have been DJ'ing for the best part of ten years, starting of as a DMC battle DJ after smashing my way through the Scottish DMC finals, through to the London DMC finals. I turned my hand to mix cds, then radio, as well as tearing up dance floors from Edinburgh to London town then back again. Sharing the stage with everyone from Trevor Nelson to Cutmaster Swift along the way. I have passed my knowledge and skills on as a DJ tutor and I was the scratch DJ for Sky Sports, for their weekly football show "Premier League Preview". My blog here is to keep you up to date with the latest news from the urban world, reviews, write ups, features. As well as positive, mindful blogs, tell a friend to tell a friend.
