As the mercury rises in the UK the mercury award winner and Grime pioneer is back!

Its been a phenomenal few years for grime now and its set to get even better. As East London’s finest has announced a new album Raskit

With a release date set for July 21 the summer soundtrack is on its way folks. Raskit marks Dizzee’s first album in four years, following on from 2013’s The Fifth.

“The idea of trying to be my 17 year old self again just because everyone thinks grime’s landed in their lap this week didn’t satisfy me,” Dizzee says in a statement, “I wanted to use what I’ve learned to make the best rap album I could, with no hands in the air moments, just using as much English slang as I could over the best beats I could find.”

Sounds good right? Back to basics, no big pop/crossover tracks just lyrical finesse and big beats.

The first single from the forthcoming album is titled Space. A striped back production leaving a huge stage for Dizzee to fill, which he does with ease. Non stop heat seeking lyrical warfare showing that he is still at the top if his game. If this is how the rest of Raskit sounds we have another certified grime classic on our hands.

From a long haired skateboard kid growing up in Glastonbury, via Edinburgh for a few years. Now making moves in London for the last ten years and counting. My journey has been fuelled by music. I have been DJ'ing for the best part of ten years, starting of as a DMC battle DJ after smashing my way through the Scottish DMC finals, through to the London DMC finals. I turned my hand to mix cds, then radio, as well as tearing up dance floors from Edinburgh to London town then back again. Sharing the stage with everyone from Trevor Nelson to Cutmaster Swift along the way. I have passed my knowledge and skills on as a DJ tutor and I was the scratch DJ for Sky Sports, for their weekly football show "Premier League Preview".
