Mobb Deeps, Prodigy – dies age 42.

Another tragic loss and another legend gone too early. Prodigy one half of the infamous Mobb Deep dies age 42.

Without a shadow of a doubt this has come as a huge shock to the music world. One half of QB’s finest dead at 42. Its with a heavy hear and disbelief that i even write this blog with Mobb Deep playing in the back ground.

NewYork 90s icons for real, raw and rugged hiphop Prodigy alongside Havoc formed Mobb Deep aka the infamous Mobb. Together they tore through the 90s and 00s with a rare fierce lyrical dynamism matched by even harder beats. Creating countless classics such as ‘Shok Ones pt 1 and 2, Survival Of The Fittest, Quiet Storm’ amongst others along the way.

At the time of writing this all details are still sketchy to the exact cause of death. What matters right now is, you, me all of us take some time out to re visit those classic Mobb Deep albums and turn it up loud. Im memory of another fallen hiphop soldier taken way before his time.

“It is with extreme sadness and disbelief that we confirm the death of our dear friend Albert Johnson, better known to millions of fans as Prodigy of legendary NY rap duo Mobb Deep”, his publicist said in a statement. “Prodigy was hospitalized a few days ago in Vegas after a Mobb Deep performance for complications caused by a sickle cell anaemia crisis. As most of his fans know, Prodigy battled the disease since birth. The exact causes of death have yet to be determined. We would like to thank everyone for respecting the family’s privacy at this time.”
