Taking it all the way back to 1995 to one of the greatest hiphop/jazz collabs ever.. Its time for #ThrowBackThursday.

Taken from Guru’s second Jazzmatazz album: The New Reality, this is HipHop-Jazz fusion at its finest! Teaming up with Chaka Khan on vocals, Branford Marsalis on saxaphone and co produced by Guru. This is grown man music at its finest.

Over 21 years old and still managing to sound as relevant in 2016 as it did all the way back in 1995. This is the test of a mans legacy, Guru gone but never forgotten.

A timeless theme of being mindful of what you say. The big jazz sound comes courtesy of Branford Marsalis who sampled Quincy Jones ‘The Midnight Sun Will Never Set’ for that sexy sunset sax rift. Complimented by Guru with his deep, smooth and effortless flows. Throw in a power house vocal from Chaka Khan and this is one of the greatest hiphop-jazz fusion tracks ever.

The video was shot by the legendary Hype Williams with a New York City summer as the back drop. Guru appears strong, stylish yet understated through out the video, while Chaka Khan bursts into the video with high energy and that huge voice.

With the summer reaching melting point in London at the moment, this is the perfect sound track to your evening. So turn it up loud and fall into #ThrowBackThursday with ease.

Sharing the stage with everyone from Trevor Nelson to Cutmaster Swift along the way. I have passed my knowledge and skills on as a DJ tutor and I was the scratch DJ for Sky Sports, for their weekly football show "Premier League Preview".
